GLONUTRA BLACK SEED
Black seed is a treasure trove of Omega-3 fatty acids and considered to be a boon for vegetarians and vegans. It contains Omega-3, 6 & 9 in high concentrations. In addition, the Black seed is rich in the phytochemical Thymoquinone, which exhibits excellent anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and hepatoprotective properties.
Black Seed is derived from the plant Nigella Sativa and has a rich history of more than 3000 years to back it. It has been used for its renowned medicinal properties mainly in the Middle East, India, Pakistan, Indonesia and Europe. It is one of the few plants that find mention in the Holy Quran as a panacea for all illness.
The uniqueness of the seeds from southwest Asia- Nigella sativa is realized by the many names that it is referred to- Black cumin, Black caraway, Black sesame, Onion seed and Roman coriander. “Black seed” is actually more of a description than a proper name yet is preferred because it helps to distinguish it from caraway and cumin. Many health experts claim that it is, indeed, a true panacea; able to help treat everything from allergies to hypertension.
The Black Seed has also been in use worldwide for over 3000 years. It is not only a prophetic herb, but it also holds a unique place in the medicine of the Prophet. It is unique in that it was not used profusely before the Prophet Muhammad made its use popular. Although there were more than 400 herbs in use before the Prophet Muhammad and recorded in the herbals of Galen and Hippocrates, the Black Seed was not one of the most popular remedies of the time. In fact, a large part of this herbal preparation’s popularity is based on the teachings of the Prophet.
